What Are Today’s Wii Deals

Lately Nintendo has been lowering prices on the Wii console, and shipping Wii bundles at lower prices too. They have been working hard to keep their numbers up heading into the end of the year probably; in June Nintendo had their slowest sales ever.  However it's true that in this economy, sales are slumping for most game console companies. But these slumping sales mean there are Wii deals out there for buyers who have been holding out for good prices.

The best deals are on the console bundle.  Nintendo released its black Wii console by offering either a black or white system bundle including Wii Sports Resort, the Wii MotionPlus, and adding in the original Wii Sports game.  Most retailers have this bundle for under $200.  Because the console price was lowered, there are also bundles with more components that also have lower prices, like the Wii console and Wii Fit bundle, which can be found for under $300 and includes games and accessories.

Other Wii deals are the controller bundles for the Wii, which are a good way to save on pieces you need to play.  The Wii controller comes standard with the console, as well as one nunchuck, but if you want to play a multiplayer game, you need at least one extra controller and nuchuck.  Sold separately, these items add up to a suggested retail price of around $60 together.  But you can buy a Wii controller and nunchuck combo for under $40 when youbuy both together.  an if you buy abundle that includes the MotionPlus, a $20 value, you can get all three pieces in abundle for around $75, which saves you t least $10 or more.

Other Wii sales are on Wii games, which are often discounted in pre-release, but we have also seen big discounts of 25% or more on some popular games such as Boom Blox, LEGO Harry Potter, and more.  Some Nintendo games are still near the $49.99 suggested retail price, but at stores like Amazon you can usually find a discount of 5% or more on these deals.

This summer, as Nintendo and retailers try to clear out inventory for the coming holiday season, check around and you might find some of the best Wii console deals on consoles, bundles, accessories and games.

What’s In The Wii Bundle Package

May 4, 2010 · Posted in Wii Bundle · Comment

Still searching for the best Wii deal on a Nintendo Wii console?  As demand has slowed, as many people who wanted a Wii have already purchased, but some are still looking to buy at the right price.  With everyone looking to save money, there are some excellent deals available right now.

For example, Nintendo just announced that it will  be selling its basic Wii bundle for just $199. The bundle includes Wii Sports Resort, the controller, nunchuck and the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which alone is a $24.99 retail value.  The MotionPlus accessory clicks into the controller, and adds stability and smoothness to your stroke when you use the WiiMote controller.  As everyone knows of course, the Wii has the wand-style controller, but it has always lacked something in the area of fine control – like trying to hit a target, or make a swing of the arm come out smoothly.  The Wii MotionPlus was designed to help make your aim more accurate.  It’s a great addition when you’re playing games like ping pong, golf, or throwing flying disks in Wii Sports Resort.

The other types of bundles available are also great deals.  The price you pay when you combine items is always lower, but you can find Dance Dance Revolution bundles, or sports games like Madden NFL, included in bundle packages.  You can save a lot by buying items together at once.

But if you don’t want to spend hundreds up front, even if you’re saving, the basic Wii bundle package is an excellent deal, especially with the added value of the MotionPlus.   It’s a great time to buy, before the holidays head our way, and prices go up while inventory goes down. Today, you can basically choose your own system, and shopping online makes it even easier to see what’s available.  Try bidding at online auction sites like eBay, where Wii prices are all over the map, but you can see what they recently sold for as well.  You can often find a great deal.

Now that you can also use your Netflix subscription to watch streaming movies on the Wii console, you can actually save money on moviegoing too – your Wii becomes a total home entertainment center.

Saving money is on everyone’s  mind, but so if having fun. By getting in on the fun with a Wii today, you will make a great investment in home entertainment.

Is The Wii Price Going Lower?

October 30, 2009 · Posted in Wii Bundle, Wii Deals, Wii Fit, wii console · Comment

Nintendo company stock is down as a result of Wii sales that are lower than expected despite that the company lowered the Wii price. Sales are slumping and it sounds like it took the company by surprise.

What would be the reason for slowing Wii sales? Well, market saturation might be one reason. Gamers have a choice between the Wii console, PS3 and Xbox of course. How many serious gamers will go for the Wii?

And relying on non-traditional gamers also has its pitfalls, since many individual buyers might be interested in the Wii Fit for example, but not at that price. Same goes for seniors who are using the Wii for exercise and fun, the price tag might be putting them off, even if it has been lowered somewhat

People are not buying as much as they used to either, cutting costs and expenses, and a game console for folks who aren't die hard gamers might not be high on the must buy list. When the economy is bad, this type of expensive purchase is out of reach for a percentage of the population that normally would be buying

Profits are down, and Nintendo's income is lower as a result, what impact does that have for the buyer? Sales of the PS3 are up too because Sony lowered their prices to compete, so it seems like the competition is wising up too.

Now, buyers are going to be looking for more new games and game titles to take advantage of the new electronics, like the MotionPlus and the Wii Fit balance board. Will there be price cuts for games? Since most are at the $50 mark, lower Wii prices on games as well as consoles would be good for consumers.

You've probably heard that Nintendo dropped the price of the Wii console to $199, but what does this mean for Nintendo Wii bundles? Buying a bundle has always been one way to get a discount on a Wii console game system, because when you purchase more pieces at once, the retailer reduces the price. Wii bundles come with a console, one or more controllers, as well as additional accessories, games and various add-ons. The number of ultimate combinations is really endless, with so many new features, accessories and other great additions to the Wii system.

As an example, if you purchase a Wii console bundle, a very popular bundle is the Nintendo Wii console with Wii Fit bundle. This includes the console, the Wii Fit balance board, fitness games such as EA Sports Active or Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009. Also included might be additional controllers, and other games like Mario Kart or Wii Sports Resort.

Many other Wii bundles will include several controllers up to four, and a matching number of nunchucks. This way, more than one player can join in the fun as soon as it's plugged in. Many bundles now come with Wii Sports Resort and the Wii MotionPlus controllers, which refine a player's moves. It comes with new games like sky diving and water skiing, or EA Sports or Madden sports games. Bundles for kids will include games like Mario Kart and Mario Party 8, which is really for any age player.

With so many different accessories, games, and features for all ages the bundle selection is truly endless. Be sure to take your time and review the different bundles available to make sure they come with all the pieces you are looking for. It will be hard to find the same selection in stores that you can find online, especially if you're shopping through online auctions. Even online retailers have trouble keeping these in stock. Nintendo Wii bundles are really the way to go for a new purchase, both to save money and get started playing right out of the box.

Should You Get The New Wii Sports Resort?

This week, Nintendo releases one of the hot new Wii games of the year - the new Wii Sports Resort, based on the old Wii Sports.

This version, Wii Sports Resort, updates the old Wii Sports game that came with many Wii console packages when the Wii console was first released. Sports Resort has some new games, and also includes new features to take advantage of the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is an accessory for the Wii controller that provides lots more control for the motion sensitive Wiimote controller. This new sports Wii game includes 12 different sports, including some new ones like archery, jet skiing, sky diving, and sword dueling.

Some of the early reviews have said the new games take advantage of the technology really well, but might not go far enough, because they don't offer a longer experience with the new MotionPlus technology. With the new games like swordplay and archery, the features of the better control are great examples of use of the MotionPlus technology, and also the older games like bowling and golf have been tweaked to make them a whole lot better in this version. Some reviewers though were somewhat disappointed with the fact that technical issues caused trouble, like having to recalibrate the controller constantly by setting it down on a level surface in between games. They also found that not all games, such as wakeboarding and flying a plane, are as interesting as the swordplay and archery games for example.

Some gamers might be bored with more sports, finding that the mini games are not be as much fun, and the games from the old version, like bowling and golf, don't add much. Still, using the new controller accessory means there's something new to try here, and improve the quality of game play. So, at least for practicing and trying to improve your score, it sounds like it's still worth buying. The Wii Sport Resort package comes with the Wii MotionPlus accessory included, so the $49.99 price tag might be worth it (the MotionPlus retails for $19.99 by itself). Right now, get Wii Sports Resort discounted at Amazon, with free shipping, for $46.99.

Our take is that ultimately, it is probably a good idea to get Wii Sports Resort to add to your Wii games collection and practice using the new Wii MotionPlus accessory.

Wii Console Is Your Best Game Console

April 30, 2009 · Posted in Wii Bundle, Wii Deals, Wii Games, wii console · Comment

Did you know that even with the recession, the Wii console is still selling fast? Units are being boosted by new items available with the Wii: The Wii Fit, with the balance board, is a huge hit; Wii games like Raving Rabbids, Da Blob, Wii Music are big hits with the whole family, and even some of the traditional "gamer" games like Call of Duty are now available for the Wii.

It's true that the Nintendo Wii may not have all the graphics capability, or online gaming features, that other systems like the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 have, but for the amount of family friendly fun, the Wii console still has the best deal.

But the bottom line is, if you're still on the fence about buying a Wii console, think about it this way: A trip to the movies costs $30-60 for tickets and snacks. A Wii console can give you years of fun for just 4-5 trips to the movies. Plus, with so many great online games, free Wii game downloads, and game rental services (so you don't have to buy them until you try them), a Wii console is a really good investment in family time.

We're working on adding some listings for cheap Wii games, along with reviews, so if you want to find out what are the best selling games and where to get them cheaply, stay tuned.
