Right now during the holiday season, Nintendo is bundling Wii bundle packages in a variety of configurations, which can be confusing if you're shopping for gifts. The best way to break it down is by a couple basic options - color and what games are included. Most Wii bundles include just one controller and one nunchuck, with others available separately. Knowing what you want is the way to find Wii bundles best deals. The major differences in Wii bundles packages are what game or games are included.
For example, start with the colors You can buy the Wii in white, black and red. The black Wii console bundle came out just a couple years ago and has been very popular. The red Wii console is more of a limited edition, and costs more as well as being more difficult to find. For a short time there is also a limited edition blue Wii console, which is difficult to find, but right now it is available at Amazon. You can find controllers however in a variety of colors, including yellow or pink, from third party companies.
Once you know what color you want, then you can decide what games you'd like to get as part of your bundle. Some bundles target younger kids (and their parents!) with games like Mario Kart. Mario Kart is easy and fun to play for even the youngest kids. There isn't any violence to speak of, mostly throwing mushrooms at each other as you drive by, or crashing your kart into your competition. Mario Kart is a lot of fun, but probably not the first choice of a family with teenagers. The Kart bundle usually includes a steering wheel, where you insert the controller to "drive" your kart. The Mario Kart bundle comes in both white and black.
Next up are sports games. You can get a white or black bundle that includes Wii Sports Resort, the most recent release of the popular original Wii Sports game. Wii Sports Resort appeals to slightly older kids (although little kids can certainly play too!) such as ten years old and up. Wii Sports Resort can be great fun, with games like water skiing, jet ski, skydiving, biking and canoeing and much more. Some red Wii bundles also come with Wii Sports Resort.
Another top item that is bundles with the Wii console is the Wii Fit balance board with Wii console. The Wii Fit appeals to many people who aren't necessarily gamers, so packaging the Wii Fit with the console is a great idea. You can find "mega bundle" deals with the Wii Fit and additional accessories, in both white and black.
Unlike the white and black consoles, the red Wii console comes with the New Super Mario Bros game. The red console was designed and released as part of a Mario anniversary edition, to match the red packaging of the release of this new version of the popular former Super Mario Bros for the old NES game platform. The red console also comes with Wii Sports, or Wii Sports Resort, in addition to New Super Mario Bros.
As you can see, there are many combinations of Wii console and games available. If you know who you are buying for, and what their color preference is, you are sure to be able to find a good combination for your Wii bundle.
The Wii Still Rocks!
The Nintendo Wii is still a wonderful game system, even though it came out a number of years ago. It’s actually refreshing to come back to it after playing with some of the competing game systems. The Wii console is easier, it just seems to flow better, in the design and how the games are played. The motion controller is so easy to use, and while some players like the Kinect for being a little more intuitive, waving a Wii controller is simply an easy way to make things happen on the screen. The Wii console in black, white, or red is also more inviting, and friendlier, than the black boxes that are the domain of the “serious” game systems.
The Wii console is truly one of a kind. There are games Nintendo has made that will only work on the Wii, and they are by and large a lot of fun for all ages. Being able to play a game with your ten year old daughter as well as your sixty year old dad is saying something. Many seniors accepted the Nintendo Wii into their homes, where a couple years ago, no one would ever think to put “senior” and “gamer” in the same sentence. Getting seniors to be more active has been a great achievement of the Wii. Getting people more active generally is a great achievement of the Wii, as with the development of the Wii Fit balance board, many more people who didn’t consider themselves gamers went out and bought this console. Having the ability to work out at home and also play games has been a big boost to Nintendo sales.
Now though, the market for game consoles is pretty well saturated, and anyone who has thought of buying one has probably already plunked down their cash. Which is a shame, because prices today are lower than they have ever been, and you can find some great Wii bundle deals hovering around the hundred dollar price point. There’s a good reason to buy now, if you don’t’ already have one, which is to get in on one of the greatest entertainment values ever. You can also use the Wii to stream video from Netflix, which the other consoles were able to do first, but it’s a great benefit if you only buy the Wii. You can also download games, and surf the Web on the Wii, with what is agreeably a very limited browser, but you can do it nonetheless.
The Wii is not over either. Nintendo has announced plans to release the Wii U, the next generation of Wii console, sometime in 2012. This new Wii console has a tablet-like controller that has a whole new level of game play that no other console system has. Again, Nintendo is on the cutting edge, and we’re going to keep you informed.

We post here all the time with new pricing for the Wii console that we find on the Web. But how can you be sure you are getting the lowest price on Wii among all the places that sell it today?

Our bet first of all is that online stores will have the best deals. And they have competitive shipping, like, FREE, since they know they have to compete with offline stores, who don't charge shipping. You can also find some stores that don't charge sales tax, bringing the price down even more.
You don't have to buy online to get the best price on Wii. You can just start there, and shop around. All the biggest stores are online, so you can also check sites like Target, WalMart, Sam's Club and others to see if they have the Wii console or Wii bundle that you want. Once you find it online, you can usually also find out if they have it in stock at your local store. Beware however: Some retailers like WalMart do not give you the low online price if you buy it in store! Not sure why they would shoot themselves in the foot like that, but they do, so always always always ask to make sure the price you see online is what you'll get if you drive to their location.
While you're online, you can check out the different deals each retailer has too. For example, some stores will have Wii bundles that are configured a little differently. One store allowed you to package your Wii purchase with a selection of games and accessories of your choosing, for one flat price. Others like Amazon will have lower prices on extra games and accessories so you save if you buy all together at the same time.
Make sure you're comparing apples to apples, too. Don't compare prices for console bundles that only have one game to the bundle with two games and two controllers! But do price out whether getting those extras is really a savings, or whether you're just paying the full retail price of an extra controller.
