What Are Today’s Wii Deals
Lately Nintendo has been lowering prices on the Wii console, and shipping Wii bundles at lower prices too. They have been working hard to keep their numbers up heading into the end of the year probably; in June Nintendo had their slowest sales ever. However it's true that in this economy, sales are slumping for most game console companies. But these slumping sales mean there are Wii deals out there for buyers who have been holding out for good prices.
The best deals are on the console bundle. Nintendo released its black Wii console by offering either a black or white system bundle including Wii Sports Resort, the Wii MotionPlus, and adding in the original Wii Sports game. Most retailers have this bundle for under $200. Because the console price was lowered, there are also bundles with more components that also have lower prices, like the Wii console and Wii Fit bundle, which can be found for under $300 and includes games and accessories.
Other Wii deals are the controller bundles for the Wii, which are a good way to save on pieces you need to play. The Wii controller comes standard with the console, as well as one nunchuck, but if you want to play a multiplayer game, you need at least one extra controller and nuchuck. Sold separately, these items add up to a suggested retail price of around $60 together. But you can buy a Wii controller and nunchuck combo for under $40 when youbuy both together. an if you buy abundle that includes the MotionPlus, a $20 value, you can get all three pieces in abundle for around $75, which saves you t least $10 or more.
Other Wii sales are on Wii games, which are often discounted in pre-release, but we have also seen big discounts of 25% or more on some popular games such as Boom Blox, LEGO Harry Potter, and more. Some Nintendo games are still near the $49.99 suggested retail price, but at stores like Amazon you can usually find a discount of 5% or more on these deals.
This summer, as Nintendo and retailers try to clear out inventory for the coming holiday season, check around and you might find some of the best Wii console deals on consoles, bundles, accessories and games.

The only reason I'm getting a wii is to play the sims 3 on which comes out October 26th. The wii version has exclusives the ps3 and 360 don't like swimming in the ocean, weather, sun bathing, sun burn, jet skiing, houseboats and so much more. All 3 console versions allow your sims total freedom like the pc version thou there is a very fast loading screen when going to community lots from the home lot but no loading screens when going from community lot to community lot.
This is the reason I'm getting a wii because I'm an avid sims fan and I also plan on getting sims 3 late night for the pc which streets the same day as the console versions.
Good job Nintendo!!!!!!!!!

All you need to play gamecube games is a gamecube controller and a gamecube memory card. Also this system has really good graphics. Go buy this system NOW or you`ll miss out on all the fun!!!

This is great entertainment when you are stuck inside. Also provides some decent exercise. The only negative is the same music over and over. Had to quit playing for a while, because the music drove me crazy.
Prices had started originally at $250, then last year Nintendo dropped the Wii console price to $199 to generate sales. Now, Nintendo has just released a Wii bundle which comes in either white or black, and includes a controller, nunchuk, but also the Wii MotionPlus controller accessory. The MotionPlus is a $20 accessory that helps fine tune the controller's motion, so players can get a smoother action during play. This newer bundle is $199 at big retailers.
The above Wii Console deal is not the newer bundle, including those extras. But keep in mind that this system, is the exact same Wii controller, with the same Internet access and Wii Ware offerings, including access to Netflix on the Wii, that any and all Wii controllers have.
Wii Console Now To Be Available In White or Black
This may not be a big deal, especially for folks who arlready bought their Wii Console, and don't plan to buy another just to get a different color - but Nintendo is now going to be selling Wii in either white or black console boxes. The black model has been availbale overseas for some time, but finally is reaching the U.S. Do you really plan to buy a Wii just because it comes in black now? Well if you're decorating a new family room, and prefer black, or want one for your vacation house, or need to replace one, or take one to college - well, you the point. Many families have more than one to just keep the peace at home!
You can pre-order a black Wii console right now through Amazon, for $199. The bundle at this price includes the Wii MotionPlus controller (in black), along with the new Wii Sports Resort, which has plenty of new games that are a lot of fun compared to the old Wii Sports - read our review here on this site.
The State of the Wii Console Today
The big splash that was the Nintendo Wii console a few years back, has clealry subsided. "Real" gamers proclaimed its many faults (like lack of hi def video resolution, and the fact that it was based on the kiddie-style Game Cube), even as millions of non-gamers snapped it up to get on board with with Wii Fit balance board and exercise games, families started to play together, and classic ancient arcade style games lured back old timers like yours truly.
But now what's next? Wii fans wonder. Last year, Wii games hit in the top five sellers in North America, the Wii Fit was a huge success, but now what will draw buyers in the next months and years? The holidays are around the corner, so what could be the next big thing for the Wii console?
It's likely to be the games that are the draw. Right now, items like Rock Band have already come out with The Beatles, and Rock Band Green Day Edition is on its way next. For games, Super Mario Galaxy Two has been on the must have waiting list, due to come out in June of 2010. And everyone is asking where is the next version of The Legend Of Zelda, and will Link lose his sword?
Nintendo has come out with some great technology, including the MotionPlus controller accessory, which helps steady a player's use of the controller. This has many applications, but so far, not too many games are taking advantage of it. Swordplay is an obvious use. Nintendo has also hinted at releaseing something like a biofeedback accessory, something that will measure your brain waves. One can only imagine what you could do with that, expecially playing online! Seriously though, biofeedback might lead the world to be a calmer, pleasanter place if we all worked on our alpha state.
We've heard about the Wii console being used in senior citizens homes, and also as part of physical therapy regimens in hospitals and outpatient clinics. But what's next for families? Or serious gamers? The rumor on the street is there will be a high definition add on of some kind coming up. This seems the only way to lure the fanatical gamers (and it probably won't work either). But seriously, Nintendo has made a name for itself getting buyers that would never even have given the Playstation or Xbox a second look. What can Nintendo offer them?
It was good to see that finally, Netflix offered access to streaming video through the Wii, although despite early rumors, Wii was last and not first among consoles to get it. It's fine, if you aren't picky about high definition, works great, except for some timing delays. What can you expect online eh?
And WiiWare is still going strong, with lots of great offerings. (But does Nintendo know how many of its buyers don't even know it exists, and if they do find out, have no idea how to make it work?) Accessing WiiWare and the learning curve involved is probably not getting Nintendo the results it would like.
So far, there doesn't seem to be anything on the horizon for the Nintendo Wii that will take players' breath away. Stay tuned though, and perhaps they'll suprise us.
Netflix Now Shipping Wii View On Demand Disks
Wii console owners can now access their Netflix accounts via their wireless connection to download and play movies on demand! Netflix has started shipping disks this week to users who sign up to be able to see movies using their Wii hooked up to the internet. In order to get access to a Netflix account, Netflix subscribers need to order the installation disk from Netflix. Once received, they can install according to the instructions when they insert the disk.
Being able to watch movies on the Wii console means you can choose movies that are available instantly from Netflix. Netflix DVD rental accounts have options to view instantly as well, in most cases an unlimted nmber of movies and television shows that are made available online. If you have a Wii, you will have to set it up to access a wireless Internet network in your home in order to use the new Netflix features, as well as sign up for a Netflix account.
Wii Console Deals Best Right Now
Right now Wii console deals are the best you will be able to find before the holidays come up fast. Nintendo has lowered the price of their base system, and that means great Wii console deals for you if you start shopping right now. Finding a Wii bundle, a Wii Fit with your console, or getting it as a gift for someone else is really a great idea.
Online, you're sure to see the best package deals. For example, there are many new games out for the Wii Fit, including EA Sports Active, and getting the whole package means you can save as much as 25% over the price for individual pieces. When you compare the best Wii bundles which include extra controllers, games along with the console, you'll find that the savings can be really worth shopping for online.
Also it's been the case in the past that retail stores have charged even higher than suggested price for some Wii accessories, compared to getting a discount when you buy Wii online. A good example is the Wii Motion Plus which retails for $19.99, sold higher in some stores, and yet was available online for 15% less.
Another great point for Wii console deals is that everyone's trying to save money today, and every little bit counts. When you save on the pieces you have extra cash for those games or to buy Wii Points which lets you buy and download games onto your Wii from the Wii Channel.
Get started shopping so you can compare prices before the holiday season!
